The MEP Coordinator plays a key role in managing and coordinating all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection (MEPF), and control systems throughout projects across the Bay Area. This position is responsible for ensuring MEP Systems are properly coordinated, installed according to project specifications, client and building standards and delivered on schedule while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
The MEP Coordinator serves as the primary point of coordination among project teams, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and vendors to proactively identify and resolve constructability issues, support project schedules, and ensure seamless integration of all building systems. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of MEP building systems, construction methods and materials, along with experience reviewing plans , coordinating subcontractors, facilitating MEP coordination meetings, commissioning and supporting budgeting and cost management throughout the project lifecycle. Ability to lead construction progress tours with the client, answer questions related to the MEPF and controls design and installation.
Reporting to the MEP Manager, and Project Managers, the MEP Coordinator will work closely with project teams, including the Superintendents, Project Managers, and Project Engineers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Note: Additional duties may be assigned on an individual basis)
Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing fire sprinkler designs among all project stakeholders.
Coordinate with MEP Manager on the due diligence of MEPF equipment, as-built drawings, and submittals.
Review MEP drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for accuracy, constructability and maintainability.
Identify and resolve design conflicts using coordination meetings and BIM/clash detection tools.
Monitor MEP installation activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEPF engineers and civil teams to avoid construction conflicts.
Supervise subcontractors and ensure work progresses according to the project schedule.
Conduct site inspections and quality checks.
Ensure all MEPF designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and client standards.
Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.
Attend project coordination meetings and provide technical support.
Assist in resolving technical issues and field modifications.
Ability to read and interpret Architectural, Structural, drawing sets, symbols, MEPF BODs and design guidelines.
Working understanding of Plan & Spec and Design Build process.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or construction affiliated fields and degrees
Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of commercial construction experience
Experience in 2D clash coordination
Knowledge of Building Monitoring Systems (BMS), MEP systems, and construction methods
Flexible with ability to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently
Resourceful, with respect to problem identification and resolution
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to operate in a fast-paced working environment with minimal direction from Senior Management
Able to create and support team morale
LEED AP preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (or similar project management software, Scheduling software (MS Project)
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $90,000.00 to $120,000.00 annually, based on qualifications and experience
Full time: 40 hours per week Monday-Friday in the office/job site
